ALT 1858 extends its condolences to the families of the following member who passed away recently.
Ludwig Merget (Bass 2)
Born 16 November 1929,
Germany
Died 6 March 2008, Adelaide
Although not unexpected, Ludwig's sudden passing was still a shock. He had been unwell for several months and spent several weeks in hospital prior to his death.
Ludwig was one of the most respected and dedicated of the ALT's singers and a fine second bass. He served the choir with distinction as president for two years, and many more years on various committees. He also provided good service to the cause of German singing in Australia generally, and was president of the Australian Sängerbund for several years in the 1990's.
